Declan microfiber cloth ($13) My personal obsession is glasses cloths, and this is a fine one. It features different print on each side and is extra tacky to grab every smudge.

Men In Cities slim wallet: ($40) I’ve previously reviewed a Men In Cities passport holder and given it high marks for style and functionality. The MIC slim wallet similarly does not disappoint. It has two credit card sleeves that will each hold several cards and fits unobtrusively in your pocket (great for those of us who like to carry their wallet in their front pocket). Unlike some slim wallets, it actually has a third interior pocket that’ll fit your cash.

Mack Weldon socks ($12.50) Taller and thicker than a standard dress sock, these will keep your feet warm and lend some panache to your shins.

Carmex healing lip balm and healing cream The classic lip balm, combining soothing camphor, menthol and phenol in lanolin, bees wax and other good stuff. Paired up with their new skin cream. The cream comes surprisingly close to replicating the smooth beeswax texture of the lip balm when applied.

October 2013 Birchbox Man: Eureka!

TOWELDRY Mid-Styler ($18, full size) I’m very excited about this hybrid product. Out of the jar, it has the consistency of softened butter, but with no oiliness. Nearly unfragranced. Very nice once applied; provides sufficient guidance to hair but has no tackiness like putties/clay and no crispness like gels.

Billy Jealousy Combination Code Face Moisturizer ($26, full size) This is a great non-greasy moisturizer… After applying, I did not even have to wash my hands before using my touchscreen device. Left my skin very smooth, and the super light scent reminds me of a toned down version of the green tea rinse id once received in a salon.

EVOLUTIONMAN Cleanse & Shave ($23, full size) Has a bright and pleasant marmalade scent during application, as invigorating orange oil is the dominant characteristic. rinses clean and surprisingly doesn’t seem to leave scent after washing.

Vitamine & Sea Shaving Cream ($36, full size) If you don’t care for effervescent, alcohol or menthol based shaving preparations, this is a great alternative. It nourishes your face and slicks it for shaving without the burn, tingle or obnoxious odor of the stuff from the can. Delightfully (nearly) unscented.

Eastern collective Lightning cable ($23.95) cool gear. This USB to Lightning adapter is styled like a bungee cord. I’ll wager it’s less prone to cracking than the white-coated standard issue. Plus no risk of someone taking your charge cord, at least not by mistake. (Note from wife: I stole this. Tom has a 4s, and I have a 5.)

Hooray for Bombfell! I received my latest shipment like clockwork and Bombfell even applied the size preferences I had expressed on the return of my last shipment (I opted for a roomier shirt and snugger pants than I had initially selected).

Howe fast living twill pants ($79) Great pants made of a very rugged material (think Carhart, except in a color other than brown). Comfy and not overly styled.

My selection was in a deep slate gray with almost bluish undertones; a Really cool color.

Penguin heritage slim fit window pane button down in pomegranate ($69) I’m loving the penguin shirts. My last order had a tight checkered pattern (seersuckeresque) and the one prior to that was a nice polo. this order mixed it up with a nice rich red/purple saturated buttondown.

The pattern has a classic feel to it but there’s transitional shading adjacent to the lines which is a nice detail.

Vitaman Face & Body Cleanser Quite nice; no gritty exfoliating pebbles here. worked well to remove oil, Leaving my face nice and smooth, But it’s not over dry. Perhaps the most surprising aspect of the product is it’s smell: The unmistakable scent of Fruitloops!

Histoire de Parfums 1899 This fragrance boast of Bergamot, Juniper berry, black pepper, orange flowers, iris, cinnamon, vanilla, vetiver and amber. When I first sprayed this onto my wrist it reminded me of that certain Avon product that doubles as bug spray. Within a second however the alcohol had evaporated and I found the fragrance to be complex, warm, inviting and both flowery and masculine. The citrus and pepper notes are pronounced with upon first sniff but it is the vetiver and vanilla that hold the day.

Ernest Supplies Shave Cream The pleasing barbershop scent is dominated by the jojoba and other seeds, herbs and extracts that go in to this complex Balm. You can feel the cooling of the menthol but the scent takes a backseat.

There was also a voucher for a subscription to Men’s Health magazine in the box. My wife redeemed it for the rebate, as I already have a subscription.

Blacksocks is a quarterly dress sock subscription for busy men. I work as a professional inside a large multi-national corporation and that pretty much describes me. I wear dress socks at least 5 days per week and am certainly always looking for a comfortable classic sock to wear to work. August Misto Box included offerings from Halfwit, Klatch, Oak Cliff, and Brown Coffee Company. The canyon had that light look for an East African coffee but the real winner in this bunch so far was the Klatch orange bourbon which showcased a deep well-developed flavor.

Love my French press. As I am a fan of coffee subscription clubs I needed some way to brew my coffee that would respect the quality beans. (My K-cup style Brewer doesn’t seem to get enough flavor out of them). The French press is the perfect solution and allows the grounds to sleep long enough to extract all the wonderful flavor. I was totally psyched as the box even came with some whole beans, some sweet gourmet tea (Earl Grey is my absolute favorite!), a frother to mix up some gourmet drinks for the kids and ladies in your life, and even a protein bar how freaking awesome is that!?!

My wife didn’t think I would be interested in the September Bespoke Post. She was totally wrong.
