Skyline Heather Black Joggers ($60) This pair of sweatpants has a few great details, including a blue contrast zipper,

And non-bunching elastic at the bottom of the pants. They look like wool pants from a distance but wear like a sweatpant.

Sherlock Heather Gray Sweatshirt ($60) This has a unique weaving detail with the french terry loops on the outside of the sweater. Actually it’s a sweatshirt material but looks top notch. Both of these are definitely hybrid pieces that let you look not slobby while being super comfortable. Great for these frigid indoor months.

I’ve been very pleased with the last several months of this subscription, and especially with my choice to move to the “mixed” style profile.

My style profile is a “mix.” This box shipped mid December and we received it last week – we were on vacation. It came with a square of Ghiradelli sea salt dark chocolate.

Ladner and Jupiter Socks ($24) I like the fun but not too crazy patterns on the Five Four Club socks.

Burton Pullover ($68) I love this upgrade to the classic hoodie. Having a styled sweatshirt and still be able to keep warm and wear what I want is perfect for this winter.

Jalon Fashion Tee ($44) This is the short sleeve (and charcoal) version of the shirt we received last month. I wish the style had been different, but the softness is fantastic. Five Four has the softest shirts.

I love the hoodie in this box so I’m very happy with it, but I wish the shirt was a little different, just for some variety. Hoping for some new accessories over the next couple months for the spring.

Hayter Scarf ($25) The color in the first photo is more accurate. This scarf is perfect for the season. It’s a lightweight dressy scarf and the pattern is great.

I was frankly surprised to see another jacket – 2 months in a row – but I switched my profile this month so that probably explains it.

Croft Charcoal Jacket ($88) It’s made of a knit fabric and has an inside breast pocket.

I received $125 of clothing without doing anything, and that was awesome.  I’m hoping for a sweater next month – the one from a year ago is one of my most used clothing items.

Five Four sent me two items this month. Sometimes there are three – it depends on the items.

Ramage Jacket ($92) It’s like a baseball jacket but with heavy cuffs and updated styling, maybe a mix of some varsity jacket styling. The zip pockets are a really great detail on this jacket.

Sawtelle ($32) I can’t say that I’d pay that price for a branded tee, but it’s an interesting throwback design and a definite improvement in my eyes over Five Four’s graphic tees from last year. The styling is much better. I love the fabric they use on their shirts – it’s very soft.

Five Four Club is a men’s clothing subscription club – sign up, pick a style profile and your sizes, and get clothes every month. Five Four ships right around the beginning of every month and to avoid confusion, I’m going to call this one September. They’ve recently overhauled their entire site and I have noticed that their clothes have definitely taken on more of a hipster vibe. I think this is a good thing.

This month’s information card had styling tips.

I got 3 shirts in this package, balancing out previous packages of pants.

Miller Pullover ($72) This is a great sweater with a 1/4 zip neck opening. Perfect for throwing on for a nice fall walk with the dog.

Homer Button Down ($60) I think the price on this is exaggerated but I still think the subscription itself is a good value. This looks great under the pullover.

Holloway Henley ($38) This is my favorite item in the box. The fabric is super soft and will be a great layering staple.

July Five Four Clothing Club Review #1

Dress Rossmore Jean ($78) This is a straight leg denim (see my guide to the different Five Four Club inseams and denim styles) pant and darker than it appears in the photos (it was night, I used a flash). Pretty thin for jeans, so comfortable and not bulky. Some really nice tailoring touches all over the pant with extra reinforcement where you need it. There’s a nice sheen to it that is subtle and not flashy.

Miguel Henley ($44) This is a baseball-style shirt in the characteristic thin Five Four Club fabric, which I really like. I don’t recall any 3/4 sleeve shirts from Five Four so this was a great addition. The sleeves are the perfect length – they fall where I’d roll them up anyways, but removes all that extra fabric.

July Five Four Clothing Club Review #1

Below is what I received as part of my regular monthly shipment for July.

I got this great explorer Dopp Kit. Some subscribers got a shirt tucked in theirs. Five Four Club does send out bonuses in random packages.

Walter Two-Tone Shirt ($38) I like the v-neck on this shirt and I don’t have anything like it. It’s somewhat thicker than the usual Five Four club graphic tee, but still nice and lightweight.

Dress Henning Jeans ($78) The packing slip says grey but I call them black jeans. They are similarly styled to the jeans above but more toned down, so in line with my profile, and high-quality. They are super soft in comparison to the first jeans, which were stiffer.

You can see that these ultra-comfy jeans have the same reinforcements as the first pair.

Juniper ($38) This is thin but textured so not really see through. It’s not sheer. It’s very interesting! It’s more of a dressy tee with a henley style neck and a pocket. It’s kind of a combo shirt!

This was a great month from Five Four Club, it’s definitely one of my favorite months so far, and the club has definitely improved over the last year – I’ve been a subscriber for 12 full months now.
